This module is not approved as a discovery module
This module consists of a weekly tutorial during which you can discuss the material from your lectures in a small group setting and with your personal tutor. It provides a forum for you to raise any queries about the content from your lectures and to discuss effective problem solving strategies. This module will also support your personal development and academic journey during the first year.
This module gives you the chance to discuss the material from your other modules, and to solve related problems, in a small-group setting.

On successful completion of the module students will be able to:
1. Solve a variety of physics problems drawn from the first year course syllabus and discuss the problems and their solutions in a small group situation.
2. Present scientific concepts in extended written English suitable for a general educated audience with illustrations and figures and references to literature sources as necessary
3. Plan and reflect on own personal and academic development
4. Understand what is meant by academic integrity in university work, why it is important and the consequences for not upholding it.
5. Demonstrate that they have started to consider career options and how to develop employability
